List of Organizations Under the United Nations and Their Functions

It is an international organization founded on October 24, 1945, to encourage international cooperation. It was a replacement for the united nations and was established after World War II to prevent similar conflicts.

At the time of its establishment, the united nations had 51 member states; There are currently 193 members. In addition to member states, some international organizations, and inter-state organizations have a place as permanent observers who have offices at the United Nations Headquarters, and some are only observers.

Palestine and the Vatican are non-member states and include permanent observers (the Holy See has a permanent representative at the United Nations, while Palestine has a permanent office at the United Nations).

What kind of personnel policy does the United Nations have?

The United Nations and its agencies enjoy the immunity of the countries in which they operate to maintain united nations impartiality regarding hosts and member states. Although they are independent in terms of human resources policy, the United Nations and its agencies are willing to enforce member states' laws regarding same-sex marriage, so decisions about staff status in same-sex partnerships are based on employee citizenship.

The United Nations and its agencies recognize same-sex marriage unless the employee is a citizen of a country that recognizes same-sex marriage. The practice does not address specifically the recognition of same-sex marriage, but reflects the general practice of the United Nations on specific human resource issues.

It should also be noted that some agents provide limited benefits to the employees' local partners, and some agents do not recognize same-sex marriages or local partnerships of their employees.
